I am just fed up with all these emails saying that i have sent them infected emails. how can i stop it? thanks

You should be fine. The virus can only be exicuted
by a PC. Macs (no matter what operating system)
dont know what to do with .exe files.

If there was a virus you got it from someone elses
email that had it and you may have forwarded it on
to someone else. Not your fault. The virus started
somewhere else.

Hope that answers your question

Jon,

I recently got a few "bounced email" notices for
emails I never sent, and I'm pretty certain what's
going on is the latest several worms are "spoofing"
the sender address by grabbing an address in the
address book of the infected computer. So
somebody who knows you, owns a PC and is infected
is sending these emails out in your name. When the
server bounces them back, they go to the address in
the "From" field- that's you.

See http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/
venc/data/w32.sobig.f@mm.html

about the W32.Sobig.F@mm worm where it says

-------------------
Email routine details
The email message has the following characteristics:

From: Spoofed address (which means that the
sender in the "From" field is most likely not the real
sender). The worm may also use the address,
admin@internet.com, as the sender.

NOTES:
The spoofed addresses and the Send To addresses
are both taken from the files found on the computer.
Also, the worm may use the settings of the infected
computer's settings to check for an SMTP server to
contact.

... and so on and so forth, then ...

Systems Affected:
Windows 2000, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows
Me, Windows NT, Windows XP
---------------------

Is your machine on that list? Bet it ain't. So, it's not
you, no way Jose.

If anyone complains to you refer them to the page
above which, if they read and understand, makes it
quite clear you are a victim, not the perpetrator.

Regards,

waterboy
