Ok, it is essential I connect to the web via
IE6 on my Mac, so I have installed VirtualPC
as recommended on this forum. I have
installed Windows 2000 and all seems to be
running fine. The instructions for
connecting to the internet this way require
that you network to the Mac OS via LAN and
use the Mac internet connection, which I
have set up. However, my PC based browser
cannot connect to the web. It opens but
fails to find a connection. Any ideas.
please? Thanks in advance, Andy.My Mac connection is AOL, and I'm using
Explorer on the PC.%00

select the PC in the PC list in VirtualPC.
then goto edit> "settings.."
then click networking , and switch it on.
hope this helps.

Thanks Johsua but I've tried all the
standard procedures and settings. When I
start up the PC browser it seems to think
it's connecting, but then it says it can't
find the server. All the network settings are correct in
accordance to the manual.I was wondering whether it might be
something to with the fact that my Mac
connects via AOL?%00

i think you need to set AOL up on the PC emulation as
well.Joshua Coventry

I had Virtual PC on my old Mac, but I just bought a new G5 Mac.
Unfortunately, Virtual PC will not run on a G5 yet.
Do you know any other way of installing Windows on a G5, without having to buy the new "Microsoft" version of Virtual PC, which comes out next month?
I paid for ($25) and downloaded:
OpenOSX
http://openosx.com/but could not get it to work.
This program seemed to be a good alternative but somehow was missing something.
Do you have any suggestions?
Many thanks
