I need a Windows machine for work, but want a PowerBook for me.
I need to run Windows and must access a RS-232 serial port interface. If I insert a PCMCIA card with an RS-232 adapter, can I access that PCMCIA card from Virtual PC.

I am not sure that it would work the thw PCMCIA card adapter. I managed to use a USB-RS232 adapter ($40??) with the driver installed in the windows enviroment. That worked without any problems.

Can you tell me which USB-RS232 adapter you used?
I tested a Belkin F5U103 and my Windows 2000 on Virtual PC 6.0 does not recognize the hardware even though I have selecte the USB device in the PC settings list and restarted.
Thanks, Tim

I'm using Virtual PC 6.0 (Win2k) on powerbook G4/ 800Mhz the Kensington USB to serial adapter works fine is some application but most of legacy PC application for serial programming does not respond well on USB-to-serial adapter. Is there any PCMCIA -RS232 adapter for Virtual PC on Mac OS X.

Virtual PC can not access PCMCIA card of any type, so no there is no PCMCIA-RS232 adapter you could use.
