I'm more of a PC/Windows Person though got an Apple Mac to hand and I would like to know how to view the computer's specifications (CPU, RAM, HD, etc).

start up the system. click on the apple in the upper left hand corner, and it will have about this apple. click that and it will show some sys specs. other than that i am in the same boat as you are

I found the way.. go into the hardrive, open the folder called utilities and there is a programme called "Apple System Profiler". there you can see all the information about your Mac.
