Comment:

I just installed a cheap USB 2.0/Firewire combo card
in my AIO and haven't been able to get the USB
working at all in either OS X or 9 and I have no way
to test the Firewire so I'm not sure about that. The
card uses VIA chipsets and has no brand name on it
or it's packaging. Is the VIA chipset even compatible
with Mac OS? Any help would be appreciated.

Take the card back and get a Mac compatible card.

Aright, bobw, thanks for that pithy advice. I have
actually come to that same conclusion after
researching the VIA chipset and finding it
incompatible with OHCI even though the package
says "OS 10.1 compatible". I will be more careful in
the future.
