I have a power mac g4 dual gig with a dvd
burner and usb 1.1. My questions are as
follows:
1. Can I change my usb ports from 1.1 to
2.0, and if so what do I need to purchase.

2. I want to add a second internal dvd
player, but am not sure if I can just buy
any one off the shelf or if I need to get
something special that works with my
existing door on my tower, and if there is a
problem because of the eject key on my
keyboard?

No, you can't change your USB ports. You can add a PCI
USB 2.0 card.

For the internal DVD, get a Pioneer 106 or 107. They are
completely compatible with Apple's apps.
