Comment:

I recently converted to mac and I used an external hard
drive [when I had my windows laptop]

In mac os x i can read the files from the xternal hard
drive, but I can't write to it.

i tried changing permission properties but nothing
worked.
if anyone has any suggestions, that would be great!

thanks

If the external drive is formatted NTSF, you will only be able
to read, not write. If you want to read/write, it needs to be
formatted Fat32.

If it is Fat, Get Info on the drive's icon and click Ignore
Ownership.
