the g4 733 is a really nice computer. You would be better
off increasing memory, rather than processor speed. A
better video card may bring you noticable improvements
as well. I really don't think any processor upgrades will
give you much of a boost. If you are going to upgrade all
areas, you should price out a new machine. Might be
better off to purchase a new one.
Cheers, macs are great!

I have 733 and just purchased a dual 800 from the same model year. My understanding is that they are interchangable...save for the heatsink which is diffrent. MacDan site on web shows hhow to convert single to dual heatsink. Whole upgrade cost me 250 total more than 2x the speed of 733. Maxed out the RAM as well. You can easily over clock 733... search web to find site, I assume the same is true for dual 800. I'll let you know. Seems to me worth the upgrade. I would look around on ebay for some processors. There was a dual 1 ghz board that should work. for 300 last week. Do some digging first not sure if all processors are interchangable. Something to think about the Sonnet and other processor companies offer upgrades that fit a whole slew of models that and it makes economical sense for Jobs and Apple to use interchangable parts.
