I am trying to get a new printer and have come across the fact that i need 10.2.
"Not only will it support modern printers, but it is also more reliable and faster,
" a PC tech freind told me. Is that true?the sys spects are all basic, 256 ram, G3 processor. just a plain cd drive.
Also should i add another 256 to be safe?
If at first you dont suceed in opening a computer, get a hammer and a chisel like i do...

Like I said in your earlier post, 10.2 is a big leap forward
in speed and reliability over 10.1. Actually, 10.2.5 was
where I think OS X really started to shine. 10.3 (Panther) is
just that much better than 10.2. Personally, I wouldn't run
any less than 10.3.
256 MB Ram is sufficient to run on, but the more you have
the better off you'll be. I have a Lombard Powerbook
running 10.3 on 192 MB RAM, but it's basically just for
light internet work. If you can afford another 256 or
maybe even a 512, I'd do that. All the eMac machines were G4s, so if your machine is a
G3 that it must be an iMac. Some of the iMacs need a
firmware update before they can run 10.2 or later. You
can see what machines need the firmware update and
download them here...
