I have a Mac Centris 610 with an OS 7.5.5 and have netscape gold 3.0 and have been trying to upgrade to 4.5. After I download I get a message saying the file is corrupted. I went to Netscape help and was informed that the new download was probably trying to use files from my already installed netscape gold and that was why i was getting that message. I was the told to delete all my netscape files and then download the 4.5 again. Okay, maybe I'm just stupid but tell me how can I dump all my netscape gold files and the connect to the internet to download anything if my netscape stuff is deleted? It' driving me nuts.I would really appreciate any help here. P.S. I tried to just save the 4.5 to disk and then dump the old stuff and install the new but the disk wouldn't hold all of the 4.5 info.

If your Centris 610 has a CD drive like mine did, then go buy a copy of Mac Addict magazine with the accompanying CD. The CD has the latest browser installers on it every month. Word of advice: With your feeble 610 you may want to use an older browser. The hardware requirements are A LOT less taxing on your 20 mhz Motorola machine (That doesn't even have an FPU!). No offense. I loved my 610, but there comes a time when you just have to let go. You can pick up a first or second generation PCI power mac pretty cheap these days. Think about it.

Hey

You have a "68k" Mac, and you can't use any of the netscape versions intended for the PowerPC - I think 4.0.1 or something is available in a 68K version, but 4.5 is definitly not. Good luck!
