Hello! I just updated my old ibook G4 from Mac OS X
10.3.9 to 10.5.6 using the help of customer service
from Hard Core Mac's online site. I followed their
instructions, adding more memory (purchased from
Other World Computing) and installing a software
update (purchased from Hard Core Mac). This what I
purchased:

1- OWC2100DDRSO1GB, 1GB (1024MB) PC2100
DDR 266MHz 200 Pin Low-Profile 1.25" Memory
Upgrade for Apple iMac G4/1.0GHz 17" models;
PowerBook G4 'Aluminum' 12" 867MHz & 1GHz
Models, and iBook G4 Models prior to mid-2005.

2- Software: Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard

Everything seemed to go very smoothly until I tried to
use the computer. It is now running so slow that I can
not even use it. It stays frozen pretty much the entire
time it is on. Any advise on what went wrong and how
is can be fixed??? Please help!!!!

It is not uncommon for G4-based machines to be slow under
Leopard - Tiger is a better recommendation for these systems,
in my opinion. What is the speed of your iBook and the total
RAM?

Older Macs. G3-G5 are better off on 10.3.
