Uninstalling OS 10.2.3 update??

I recently installed the OS 10.2.3 update on my beige G3, only to find that it doesn't play well with the Cisco VPN client I have installed (rev. 3.7.2). After waking from sleep, the computer has no IP connectivity and only a reboot can restore it.
I need the VPN, so, until Cisco patches this, I'd like to uninstall the 10.2.3 update. Is that even possible??

I haven't seen a good way to un-do Software Update releases, but that doesn't mean one doesn't exist. See if the Help for Software Update is, well, helpful in this regard.
