bought mac from company, who loaded all software on for me, but loaded it on with their name, passwords etc. before realising I could change this I deleted the user they had created. Now I can't access any of the files saved in the user folder. Is there any way to undelete the user? Thanks for your help.

Probably not, but if you boot from the system CD, you can reset the root password and then you'll have the privileges to give yourself access to whatever you want.

I assume you set your self up as administrator before deleting the original user so this should work. Click on the folder you want to open. Get Info by pressing Command and i. Click ownership and permissions Click the lock and it will unlock. Change the owner to "Your shortname here-me" (your in the list) Open the folder You will be prompted for the password. This is YOUR password not the old accounts. Do this process for each folder you want into.
You can do this because you are the administrator and also why you never want to give other users administrator rights to your computer. The security sucks if you give everyone the key.
