unable to sync mp3 files to iPod

I have iTunes 7 -- I have an old iShuffle and new iPod -- but I am unable to transfer some MP3 files to either device. Right now, the MP3 files appear in my "playlist" and I am able to play them on my Mac. However, I want to transfer the files to any devices. What do I do?

Well, if you haven't tried manually clicking "Sync" on the page in iTunes that shows your iPod's information, I suggest that. If this doesn't work, you should report this to an Apple worker.
