Hi all
My phone line has just been Broadband enabled, and I'd
like to know the best ISP for Mac's in the UK.I currently use Macace on dialup, but their Bband is very
expensive compared to others. They want £15 pm for
512k whereas Wanadoo charge £17 for 1MB inc fee
modem and connection.Wanadoo dont offer tech support for mac's though.
So what others are there? Ive seen Eclipse, and they are
the cheapest, however you have to pay separate for
modem and connection.Does anyone have any advice?
Thanks
Hev ):)PS I would like to have a wireless network for my mac and
a pc. Is airport worth getting? Also what modem do I need? Can I use the existing BT USB
modem we have? Or do I need an ADSL modem? Whats the
difference?
thanks again :-)Hev

Go to: www.adslguide.org
this is the UK's definitive ADSL provider listing. Click on
(service providers) List on the left and you will see them
all. Zen are my favourite provider as their tech support is
probably the best and there are no nasties in the small
print, unlike the others that like to make you think you are
getting a better deal with them, but in fact you are not.You will need an ADSL modem/router. If you got one with
built in WiFi, you can use it wired (ethernet) for Mac's and
PC's as well as it being a wireless access point also for
Mac's and PC's.If you are near London - a visit to the Apple Store on
Regent Street is worth a visit.
