I would like to use older second computer to Skype with family. It is a
Model: PowerBook G4 15"
CPU Type: PowerPC G4 (1.1)
Number Of CPUs: 1
CPU Speed: 1.5 GHz
L2 Cache (per CPU): 512 KB
Memory: 512 MB
Bus Speed: 167 MHz
Boot ROM Version: 4.8.6f0with Mac OS X Version 10.3.9
I seem to need an updated OS to 10.4. something in order to load QuickTime 7. Question: Is using this machine and upgrading its software, going to produce a satisfactory experience with Skype?

I have always found SKYPE a little heavyweight and limited as one can only talk to SKYPE users, personally prefer GIZMO5, which appear to use less resources.....

I seem to have the basic requirements and so I tried to
install MacGizmo and it failed due to "no mountable file
systems" ... this is a new never before seen by me notice.
I don't know where to begin figure this one out.
