I have been having trouble getting OS 10.2 to install on my beige G3. When the mac boots the cd, I get the grey apple logo, then some loading, and this happens:

The mac freezes. I have tried resetting PRAM and it still crashes. Any help?

You need XPostFacto on this machine;

Getting OS X on a beige can be a very trying experience (I
know, I've done it a few times).

Did you update the firmware prior to applying OS X?
Firmware updates can be found here

http://docs.info.apple.com/article....

Make sure everything is unplugged from the machine
except for the mouse and keyboard.

Also, try reseating the personality card in the beige and
then try booting again.

And just incase you weren't aware OS X needs to be
installed on a less than 8 GB partition on your beige (I
realize you haven't got this far yet, just want to head off
potential problems down the road).

XPostFacto shouldn't need to be installed to get a beige
running 10.2.

Good luck!

Firmware, than XPostFacto. You can adjust several things in XPostFacto that should allow the machine to boot, on my 9600/350 I had to slow the cache down a bit to get the thing to boot.
