Comment:
I recently took my ibook to dealer to have the HD relpaced because it gave me a lot of trouble and since then the trackpad is not responding.
When I try to open the Trackpad control panel it says it cannot be used with this machine.
Is it possibe to fix this without opening the ibook again to see if it was put back the right way?

same problem with my 600 Mz iBook.
It worked. Then stopped. Worked once again briefly. Then stopped for good.
Any suggestions? Warranty period has ended. E-mail me at rick_mccharles@hotmail.com

The warranty shouldn't be over on any 600MHz iBooks. Would suggest you double-check your paperwork.
Even if it somehow *is* out of warranty, you should still take it in to have it fixed - it's nothing you'll easily fix yourself and the new iBooks are a nightmare to work inside.
