help I am a completely new to the mac world I picked up a i-mac g3 333 for dirt cheap to have somthing new to play with and would like to install tiger on it i have read on low end mac that it can be done but can anyone tell me exactly how?
I have lots of other machines pc's that is so if i need a drive or somthing else I've got it i even went out and bought a enclosure so i could use a dvd with the imac but it is usb and there are no firewire ports so i cant boot off it and of course tiger says it can not install because of the lack of firewire ports. Any help i can get will be extreamly apreciated.

Hi

Unfortunatly you cant install Tiger :(

http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=43101

But 4 others make sure your hardware can run Mac OS X Version 10.4 Tiger

Mac OS X Version 10.4 requires a Macintosh with:

* PowerPC G3, G4, or G5 processor
* Built-in FireWire
* At least 256MB of physical RAM

Because u dont have a dvd drive u can avail of the media exchange offer.

Tiger ships on a DVD, but if your Mac doesn’t have a built-in DVD-ROM player, you’ll need CD media. When you buy Mac OS X Tiger, you qualify to purchase Tiger CDs for only $9.95.
