Iīve got a Power Mac 1 Ghz dual, latest model with the superdrive. My problem is that superdrive wonīt burn, at all. When I try to a window pops up after a few seconds telling me there was an unexpected error. It doesnīt matter which burning speed i choose or which application I try. Iīve tried Toast and Discburner in OS 9 and X. The error message is not the same in 9 and X. In 9 it says something like "Problem with target device Error code - 7140." In toast I get a list of non-senseble error codes and numbers.
The strange thing regarding this problem is that the superdrive worked when I first got the MAC. Iīm beginning to think that it was after I erased the harddrive and reinstalled the OS it stopped working.
Iīve runned all the software updates and gone through all relevant posts on in the apple database not being able to find a solution.
Iīve read about the superdrive having problems with high speed DVD and those even cause the drive to break. But Iīve only used CDs in the drive so it canīt be that.
