Stuffit help!!

Howdy; I've been a PC user for some years, and now I've finally bought a Mac (only an old MacIIsi I'm afraid), I must admit I'm very taken with it. Apart from one thing that is. The aladdin software 'stuffit' program, which seems to be absolutely vital for everything is supplied as a 'compressed' image. Oh dear. My Mac has no CD, and no network connection; therefore everything I download, I do via my PC, and then transfer using the excellent TransMac for windows. I realise that Netscape will decode binhex images, but that's no good if I haven't got netscape for my Mac. Windows can't handle the filenames insisted on by Netscape when I try to save the decoded file! Help! I'm running around in circles here!! The aladdin page suggests that I get an uncompressed copy of stuffit from a friend! So, fellow Mac owners; can anyone help me out? My Mac is a Mac II si, with 5MB physical RAM and System 7.5.3 Thanks in advance! Simon Cole.

Tell you what we can try. I will make a self-extracting Archive of Stuffit and then I will ZIP-IT and send it to your (ugh, I hate to use this word!) PeeCee. You should be able to unzip it and then transfer it to the Mac. I will send version 5.14 of Stuffit and DropStuff. Stuffit is Free but DropStuff is a shareWare and you will get a nag every time you use it. But it puts in the Enhanced Expander Engine and therefore is a good thing to have. (DropStuff is worth the $$$ if you plan on sending files to friends with Macs.) That might work. What say ye? I'll need an address.
