Comment: I have discovered the following problem with my iBook G4: If I am running the computer on the battery, all is well, unless or until I put in a CD. If I run an application that reads from a CD or DVD while running my iBook on the battery, the screen will immediately go black and my computer will basically "shut down." Nothing can bring it back at this point except to plug in the power adapter. Trying to force a restart does no good. But once I put in the power adapter the system acts as if the battery had been totally depleted, and is at 0%, even if I had only been running the computer 10 minutes! Soon it realizes its error and stops charging, and flips back to 100%, but at first it acts as if the battery were drained. Once again, I never have this problem unless I use a CD. The computer runs fine on the battery otherwise. Has anyone else experienced this? Is this a known problem with the machine, for which Apple is offering repair? Or is there another explanation or fix? Any help would be appreciated.
