In the future i plan to buy an external hard drive for the macbook pro that will hold files that can be run in apples native programs, take itunes for instance. Is it possible to set up a system, where instead of being a dock on the desktop, it could be integrated into the macbook pro hard drive? example: when i am out the hard drive reads 120GB, but when i connect the hard drive at home it reads 370GB, and when i open up native programs such as itunes songs from both drives could appear. If this is unclear, just ask and ill gladly repeat it in more detail.
Any help is greatly appreciated, and again dont hesitate to ask any questions regarding anything mentioned above.
The answer is no. This technology is refered to as striping(stripe-ing)and what you do is have an array of HDs on a scsi chain and the program will make all the seperate HD's appear as one. This is refered to as RAID by some people, this is incorrect. RAID array is where you line up a few HD's and have them slave off and clone of one HD for redundancy. Striping array is where all the HDs are used as one big HD.
but to use this one two seperate busses, where you will be disconnecting them is not possible.
