I don't have a startup disk for my childrens' mac. Can I download one somewhere on my pc to get it going again?? It's just got the question mark on the disk and can't go any further without a startup disk.
Please help

Yes you can and then you can make a boot disk
on your PC. Mac can read a PC formatted disk
but if you download from Apple.Com the file
may be in a format that PC can't expand. If
you send me your email address I will send
you the file uncompre

Startup disks for most Macs can be downloaded from Apple's FTP site, as long as the Mac in question will run 7.5.5 or earlier.
