startup disk SCSI ID

i have another HD that i'm adding. i'd like to clean off the old one, with the ID of 0, and use it for storage. the new one i'd like to use as the startup disk. can i set its ID to 1 and still use it as startup, or does the startup need to be 0?

ID can be 1 and you can set startup disk
in control panel.
