Start up error msg/Unreconize user

i've just change my user name and password before. i put a blank on a password request so it won't be disturb again on a restart.
suddenly when i restart my iBook G4, the login screen ask for a password then i
can't log in to. seems like it cannot reconize my new u-name and password.
i am using mac os 10.3 panther - i beleive.

so please help me.

i also have tried to boot from my install disk by pressing the C key on reboot but i can't use the start up item. i've keep try and try until the messesge appear, "your start up disk almost full,please clean up
some file by deleting........."

please help me.....

Ouch, this means you let your disk get to full (you want at
least 10% free disk space on ANY system)
As for another way to boot, hold "OPtion" on start, the
evokes the Start up manager, then the disk should appear.
But better yet, if you have another Firewire enabled machine
use it and boot this machine in Forewire Target Disk Mode,
clean off files and then try booting.
