sound failure

My iMac G5 won't play some sounds, e.g. .smil files (from NPR) and streaming audio (NBA, public radio stations). It plays iTunes fine.
My iBook with the same operating system and applications works fine.
I've tried tech support at both Apple and Real, but no solutions.

try reseting open frimware boot up holding down the Apple key+option KEy+ f+ O when u get to a texh screen type reset-nvram then press retun reset-all then press return and the computer should boot.
if that doesn;t work u can call me at 1-239-567-3097 after 6:30 pm and ask for Ed jr and we will get it fixed : )

go into utilities then midi program and changed out put back to 41000khz
