SOS! computers won't start

hi,
my friend's computer won't start. the HD can
not be recognize. when we start it we get
the blinking question mark. we tried to run
a disk with system 9.2 and disk warrior.
the HD can not be repaired and we are asked
all the time to initialize the HD.

we tried to connect his computer vie
firewire to mine. to get some of the files
out maybe.

now i have the same problem.

both computers won't work.

what can we do?

will a newer version of disk warrior can
help?


please help

First, disconnect your friend's computer from yours... it
should allow you to boot again. If still no luck, try holding
down the "D" key on your keyboard when you restart. (It
sounds like your computer is trying to boot off of his hard
drive...)

As far as your friend's drive, does it have a "clicking" noise
or funny spin cycles (spins up, spins down, repeats)? If
there is critical data, take it to a recovery specialist... if
not, reformat and it may map over the bad sectors. If the
bad sectors are located in the boot area of the drive, it is
trashed. You may need a new hard drive.
