Sony Camera Issues

I have a MVC-CD300, a Sony Digital Camera that uses a CD for image storage. The Apple website says its compatible to OS X and Sony's website says its compatible, but I cannot get it working. In other reveiws, I saw many others with the same problem as I have which is that I cannot retrieve the data off the camera. I cannot reach the pictures through USB connection, and nor through finalizing the CD and placing it in the CD drive. What's wrong? I looked for drivers on Sony's website, but on the compatiblity chart they said you don't need anything for OS X; it should 'just work.' Its not working. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
