They are one and the same. To install from floppies you must boot from them first.

They're definitely *not* the same.
You can't run anything past System 7.0 off of a floppy unless the *only* thing you're doing is installing the OS.

Well.....That's what I meant. Just the IDEA of RUNNING a modern mac FROM a floppy is beyond ridiculous.
You can certainly INSTALL from them without Booting from them, but there are limitations.

I was talking about the latest version that can be installed from a set of floppys. and where to get them? i just got an old mac. with no cd--rom. i dont even have a keyboard for it
