Slow Typing

When I type (any program...internet explorer...word...illustrator...) my mac takes a long time to catch up with how fast I am typing. I almost finished this paragraph before the first word finished displaying. Any idea as to what causes this?

1) Rebuild the desktop 2) Toss Finder prefs 3) Run Disk First Aid and fix any problems found 4) Disable unnecessary extensions

Chances are you may have accidently activated a Control Panel : Easy Access
Go to your Apple Menu >> scroll down to "Control Panels" >> scroll across and down to "Easy Access" - then just drag it to the Trash and dispose of it.
