for some reason my powerbook is running slow. when i boot, after the desktop appears, before the icons, there is a long wait, almost a minute. it just started doing this today. i thought it might have been something about how hot it got sitting on my stereo, but when it processes, it goes full speed. also, napster has trouble, lots of pauses, when connecting or loading the program.

i'm baffled. it just started doing this. i first noticed that the computer wasn't responding when i clicked on different things. it finally responded after almost a minute so i let it cool down and now have rebooted.

i'm just guessing about the heat. i really don't know what's going on. virus? who knows?

do you have any ideas? i would love to hear them.

thank you so much - hans
