Hi. I have problems with the Sleep function on my iMac DV 400. It will go to sleep if I tell it to go to sleep manually via the control pannel/control strip or if I press the power button on the iMac, but it won't go to sleep automatically. I've got it set so that it goes to Sleep after 30 minutes of inactivity, and not to spin down the HDD or turn the monitor off, just to go directly to sleep, yet it completely ignores this, and after about 30 mins the moniter goes off then shortly after that the HDD spins down but the actual computer doesn't go into sleep mode.

I've got appletalk on, but file sharing is off. (My printer requires AT to be on though). There's a USB hub with various other hardware connected to it (mainly a printer and a floppy drive). The ocmputer is connected to a hub via the built in Ethernet. There are no other applications running other than the laucher when the problem occurs. The energy saver pannel isn't set to wake when the modem detects a ring, nor is it set to wake for admin access or network activity.

I need AppleTalk on all the time because I'm printing most of the time and as I say the printer requires AT to be on. Plus, I do connect to my othr computers using ethernet occasionally, so leaving AT on is handy. This is the only thing I can think of that might be preventing the computer from sleeping, however it doesn't explain why it still turns the monitor off and spins the hard disc down even though I have it set to never do that.

I'm using version 3.0.5 of the Energy Saver control pannel. Any ideas would be appreciated.
