Here's the situation. I've got an XP Home desktop I wish to use as a print server to share out an HP OfficeJet 4315xi, a PhotoSmart c3180, and a LaserJet 1100. I've got an XP Pro laptop and a MAC OS X Powerbook that both need to access the shared printers. The wireless router is the Airport Extreme pre-n router.
I cannot get the HP all-in-one drivers to work unless the usb is plugged directly into the MAC. Basically, how do I tell the MAC to use the installed driver, but print to the shared location. It can see the printer via the network, but says "attached directly usb." The router has the usb share feature, is this something I should try? can I attach a usb hub to that port on the router?
And how do I get the MAC to print to the HP Laserjet 1100? i cannot find drivers for it.

Thanks,
Stevens

Some all-in-one printers don't allow for use of all their
features via USB sharing. Usually the scanning features are
what won't work.

I'd definitely try the USB sharing port on the ABS, and install
Bonjour for Windows on the XP machines.

It does appear that there are no Mac drivers for your printer,
but have heard some people have used the HP LaserJet 6
series - GimpPrint v5.0.0-beta drivers with some luck.
Others have used the foomatic/hpjis drivers.
