Comment: Succumbing to a request to update to the latest version of Netscape, I wasted 20mb of time downloading only to have the unstuffer "unexpectedly quit". You boys pour scorn on IE but I feel the need to run around with one of the major browsers - they are more acceptable to more sites. Anyway, the main question I have is how do I copy to desktop the Netscape mail and bookmarks I have accumulated in order to regularly burn to CD. Or should I be using a program - a simple one please?

Reply: (edit)It may not suck, but the intro to Camino is enough to put me off. It says it's in beta mode, has bugs and one needs to backup important stuff. I still haven't worked out how to copy mail to desktop in Netscape, without doing each letter. Can't I drag whole mail folders? And yes, I have studied Netscape help.

Reply: (edit)Uh, Netscape says the same thing. It's good practise in general to back up your stuff before you install new software. I have yet to lose anything in almost a year of downloading nightly Camino builds. p

Reply: (edit)From your home directory, Library/Mozilla/Profiles/[yourprofilename]/[generatedname.slt] e.g. on my system: /Users/williamr/Library/Mozilla/Profiles/william/toqch8jb.slt This contains your Netscape/Mozilla setup and all mailboxes. Individual mailboxes can be found under this.
