good afternoon,
i have inherited an imac 700mhz flatpanel g4 and it currently has 9.2 installed and would like to upgrade to 10.3 panther. a couple questions:
1. is OS X open source?
2. does it require a serial number?
3. if it is open source, where is a good place to download the Panther OS?
4. can i use SDRamm from my pc's PC133 on the imac?

of course, thanks in advance,
grant

Panther is a full system install, not a free program. Don't
ask where to steal it.

bobw,
thanks for the sarcastic, a$$hole response. did you notice that i asked about it being open source? if i wanted to steal it, i would just ask. if i wanted to steal it, i would just download of some P2P service.

have a *nice* day.

1. OS X is not open source, however, its kernel "Darwin," is. However, Darwin can't run your Mac by itself, so its worthless.

2. I don't remember the installer asking for a serial number.

3. Not free ($130)

4. Not sure, but my guess is yes. If it looks like it will fit, I'd give it a try (can't hurt anything).
