Hi all

I currently own a 08 Imac 20 inch model and make movies using final cut pro. I've recently started makin bigger and bigger movies using effects and am looking at purchasing Adobe after effects and photoshop. i have 2 questions. how can i add a second screen to increase desktop space? secondly, what would be the most cost effective way to increase the performace, graphics/processor/RAM/Hard Drive etc? Is it possible to make a hybrid system using cheaper PC parts and using the MAC operating system? Im interested in using a PC tower and somehow routing it into the back of the IMAC or something.........
Any help would be much appreciated

Well i can answer your first question. You can expand your desktop with a second monitor without issue on your imac. All you will need is a mini dvi to dvi cable like this one HERE Then plug that in the back of your imac to your new monitor and your done.

Now i'm not to sure what your asking in the second part. I think your asking if you can build a computer and put the mac operating system OS X on it. Techicnally it can be done. I would check out Project OSx86. Here is some INFO

Now you have to have certain hardware and of course it's not going to be super simple and everything won't work just like a mac.

Hope that helps.
