imac500, 600, 800??? Are you refering to speed?

I am assuming you are talking about a 500mhz imac with 256mb of RAM?


In order to run DOS or Windows you will have to buy a copy of softwindows, or realPC off of eBay as these products are no longer made. Neither of these programs are OS X native, you will have to run them on the 9 side, or in a OS classic box. Running softwindows on a G3-500 you should expect speed in the range of a low end Pentium II machine.

Even a Mac-II from 1987 can emulate a DOS box, you just have to have the emulator.

Any Mac with one of those fancy DOS cards (or whatever they were called) would work. But they were short lived and those iMacs did not have them, if I recall correctly.
