Right-click closes all open windows

When I right click either with Crtl+Left Mouse button or the right mouse button by itself all the open windows I have on the screen close (Finder, applications, etc.) All desktop icons disappear & reappear and only a simple finder window is opened that shows the HD's, CD-ROM drive (CD inserted), network, & any network shares that are connected. I have swapped out mice (laser) & the same results. I have 2 other partitions on the HD & if I right-click when booted into either of those partitions it works as it should (not closing windows down.) The only program that I have installed recently was StuffIt 10.0. The right-click was working before that & I believe for a bit after that. I have looked through Mouse & keyboard options & don't see anything that would cause this. I have AC installed & it scans nightly. Any suggestions?? It's so annoying.

I figured out my own problem!!! Yeah! Turns out it was a file called StuffItCM.plugin The file which you can find in the Macintosh HD/System/Library/Contextual Menu Items folder which are benign and a normal part of the system. I made a copy of the file, deleted the original & was able to right-click right away. Check out.... http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=2383156?

Hmmm..usually the stuffit contextual menu extension has just been known before to do this in OS9..i certainly ran into this problem there a lot. I wasn't aware that this could also happen in OSX. I wouldn't call the stuffit extension a 'benign and normal part of the system' tho! On that point i think there's enough said....
