I have just got an iBook Powerbook G3.
I tried to restore it to fres and I keep getting the following problems.Software: Osx CD (1 cd)and OS 9.2 Cd (4 cd's)
If I make it boot from the Os 9 CD, starts up and goes to a screen where you can click on Restore, when it starts restoring:A message comes up:
Could not Restore the Restricted Segmet Image !
Reading Block 00030920 -36
I dont know what to do now, can someone tellme what to do and also how to restore the iBook back.
It curretly has Os X installed.
If I let it boot from osX a window comes on saying PREPARING INSTALLATION AND THE WINDOW NEVER GOES AWAY !
Thanks

If you've just gotten it, and therefore don't have any important files on the disk, have you considered re- formatting the drive using Drive Setup or Disk Utility?
If you don't want to delete everything, have your run Disk First aid?

you just got it... you have nothing you care about on
it right???
well do just like the other dude says
and you'll b straight
Good Luck

Do you know how I can use the Disk utility to format the drive, also when i bought the item, it said it has a CD-RW and 40GB hard drive, but all I see is just 5GB free space ramining ?
How will I know where the rest is and also how will I know if it has a CD/RW ? as nothing is written on the drive ?
