Hi All,
I've got a ppc 7500/100 upgraded to a G3 400 by Newer Tech and It has a Sonnet PCI X install kit in it and is running OSx Not great but tolerable. I would like to remove X and just let it run on 9.1 which is installed also on a sep. drive. Could someone give me some advice on how I would remove X? Can I just format that Scsi drive to remove it and then drag any reference to X on the 9.1 drive to the trash? I'm not real adept with the Mac system yet but trying to learn. Really appreciate any help with this Thanks JJ

Someone posted here recently what was
supposed to be an applescript to remove
OSX, but he just pasted the script text
here. It didn't work as I tried it. I asked him
to send me the executable
script...........still hopeful, as I could use it
too.

Yeh! I see his message, and hope I don't have to use it to remove X. I am not real literate when it comes to the Mac system so I kinda hoped mine would be simple since X seems to be all on a separate drive. What Mac are you using and how is it configured? Is it similar to mine? I am having a really hard time finding a video card for mine. Maybe we will get lucky, at least we can hope.

The apple script is the ultimate in
simplicity. You launch it and it does what
it was scripted to do. But unless this guy
actually sends me the script file I am in
no position to use it, as the TEXT he
pasted in this forum does not jive in script
editor. I get syntax errors.

You can just boot from the 9.1 CD, wipe the drive, and install 9.1.

Thank You for that information. The disk I have is a 9.0 disk with an upgrade but I don't suppose that will make any difference. Since I already have 9.1 installed on the small disk, can I still install it on the larger one also after cleaning it off and then clean the small disk for extra storage?

I'd leave the OS - and ONLY the OS - on the smaller drive. That way, it's a lot easier to repair problems on the other drive, and if the OS ever gets hosed, you can just wipe out the smaller drive and reinstall the OS without losing your stuff that you have on the larger drive.

Sounds like a plan to me. Will give it a shot.
Thank You Again
