Comment:
I have recently bought a Logik Mp3 player, and it worked
well, but yesterday i erased the files from disk utility(Mac)
and when unplugged and started the player the message
on the screen said "incorrect format, reformat the player".
I have tried to reformat it through disk utility, but it
doesn't seem to work. does someone knows how should i
reformat the player?
thank you

My parents were non- english speaking immigrants, and their biggest complaint about the english language was that words could mean completely different things..and cause all sorts of trouble.
This is what has happened to you.
The "format' that the media player was referring to was the file type.... format can mean the type of file, in this case, the wong type, of MP3.
"Format" when referring to disks, such as what the "Disk Utility' does, essentially means ***erasing your entire harddrive!!!***..which is not!, i think, what you intended to do..
The Player, therefore, does not need to be 'formatted', even if you could..you can't format programs, just disks..
The player was just saying that the MP3s were the wrong *type of file*..maybe there was something wrong with them, or they were still compressed.
Put the disk utility away and do not touch it again, until you know what it's for..and i really hope you didn't "format' your drive!

Dear dominicus,
I really thank you for your lecture, but it seems that you
didn't tell me if it is possible to fix it or not. I would
appreciate a more informative answer on my problem.
Probably you are right that I don't really know that using
disk utility you could erase all the hard drive. But now that
is done, and the problem is not with the file format, but it
is as I said, with the mp3 player. I know there is a way to
reformat on the pc, but I don't know on a Mac. My mistake
was to erase the files from disk utility, because of my
inexperience with this kind of devices. Anyway, Do you
know a way to fix it?
P.s English is my second language.
