Is it possible to group a bunch of unrelated images into a folder and tell the printer to print all or do I have to open the folder and process them one at a time. Also I would like to use the printing layout option of ganging uo, say, four different images on one page - is this possible?

Lesley,
As far as I know - coming from a graphic
background - one can't select , let's say - a folder
of images in OS 10.2.6 and hit a "print all" function
because both the computer and the printer would
need specific lay-out instructions.I know one can open a folder of images - select all
- Open and view all in the OS X App "Preview 2.0"
and within "iPhoto 2.0" I do believe one can
import all photos in a digital camera and then,
using your "shift" key to multiply select the photos
in the iPhoto album - and hit "Print" - it will go off
and automatically print all photos selected, but
this does not give one the opportunity to crop
them or make refinements first. If one wished to print four or six or eight images to
the one page, it would be wiser to use a graphic
application like either Photoshop or Illustrator or
Quark to trim, alter and position the photos on a 1
page lay-out, but bearing this I guess you could
also do it by inserting and scaling images within
either Microsoft Word or AppleWorks.several alternatives there for you to play with
Play! =)
cheers
