Printing error 81 from Netscape

When I try to print a web page from Netscape 4.7 on my Mac running OS 8.5 I get the following message: "Printing error (81)". The same error occurs on Print Preview so I suspect it is not related to my print software for HP DeskJet 855C.
My wife is threatening to throw my Mac out the window, so I would appreciate any help.
