When attempting to print on my HP PSC 1350 printer, I am given an Out of Memory message, with 3 buttons - HOLD, CANCEL, or Try Again. When Try Again is clicked the message reappears. I have 64MB of RAM, and cannot upgrade. I would like to know how to get around this so I can print. Virtual Memory is on and set to 65 megabytes, the finder occupies about 20-31 MB of memory, and AppleWorks about 6.5 MB.

After you have exhausted the driver issue - and if you are still having problems check the firmware version installed on your puter. After living through many problems going from system 9 to OSX on several computers - I discovered that my firmware needed to be updated - even though when I installed OSX it said I didn't need to update the firmware. Check your firmware version and then check the apple website. Also check the apple forum. I found information there about problems with the system preferences files. I followed the posted instructions and deleted a preference file and it resolved many smaller issues.
Also, I have heard that the new version of OSX will allow you to operate older printers that have driver issues. This has been a major problem with OSX. I have a great color laser printer for proofing that is not supported by QMS in OSX. I feel your pain!
