I connect my hp 3330 mfp all in one laser printer to a pc via parallel and to a mac via usb. I was able to connect the hp printer after much help from support at hp because of conflicts with settings in the mac. Problem is now that when the usb cable is plugged in, the computer will not start, but if I unplug it and plug it back in, it starts up fine. The support woman said it's a conflict with settings and I'll have to turn everything on and off until I find the culprit, problem is that I am not good with macs. I am pc and my mom uses the mac but is computer illiterate. could anyone help me fix this problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated with her blue/white g3 mac. Thanks

See if putting a hub between the Mac and the printer helps anything.

Also, see if booting the Mac with the printer connected but turned off helps.

When you say "will not start," do you mean it doesn't give the power-on chime at all, or it boots but crashes partway through boot?

When I press the power button nothing happens at all. It refuses to do anything but stay off. When I unplug it, the computer will start up no problem. How do helps effect the computer?
