?PRAM battery problem?

When it freezes,have to open computer and reboot from inside(ie-pressing the button inside).When reboot,date comes up as 1956,wrong time.Is this a problem with the pram battery? Thx ,Doug

Yes, the date will always come up as 1956 even when you change it in the control panels if it's a pram battery problem. Also, it sometimes will take two or three times for the computer to start up.
