Recently purchased a power Mac 7100/80 from ebay. When purchased the system booted fine, the hard drive was pretty cluttered so I decided to install MacOS 8.5 at the time to try it out and to have a fresh ssytem.
Anyway I booted from the CD just fine and ran the disk utility and initialised my hard drive, however I think I also used the update boot code option or whatever it's called.
I proceeded to install 8.5, however it said it could not read from my disc (which has a few scratches on it). So I thought ok fine, for now I'll load system 7.5.3 then update to 7.5.5. However the system will not boot from the my network access floppy disk V7.5 which I got from the apple website with OS7.5.3.
My question is what can I do now? does anyone have a copy of a boot disk I can use that will work on this Mac, otherwise until I clean my CD's or buy a new set I ahve a nice beige brick.

Get a bottle of plastic scratch remover, or headlight cleaner. Take a shop towel or rag and polish out the scratches.
Net boot?? Are you saying you downloaded the 7.5 tooldisk? You do realize you will have to have another macintosh in oder to put the 7.5 disk tools image back onto a floppy right? Just coping it from a PC wont work.
It's funny hearing how people can't get ahold of 7.x CD's these days. I remember when I literally had hundreds on my work bench. You need a few?

Yeah I know about writing floppy disk images. (it's great having stuffit expander 5.5 for windows and Winimage)
Well if it's proper disc's that would be fairly cool to get as ebay UK is dry for Mac OS disc's.
Yeah I was going to get my brother to clean the disc for me at some point. Sorry for not replying sooner.
