Hi, I have a PowerMac 8100/100,
upgraded with MAXpowr G3 240MHz kit.
I'm running OS 9.1, Quicktime 6,
CarbonLib 1.6.

Installation of iTunes (2.0.4) goes OK. But
whenever I try to play MP3s on it, it
crashes with "error of type 3", turning
extensions to "Mac OS All" doesn't help.

I rip and encode all my music on my
windows machine, since it has n+1 times
faster CD-ROM... (rip yourself with a 2x
drive and laugh after that :)
I don't think that is the matter, but
anyways.

On my PMac 7200/75, running Mac OS
9.1 iTunes works. (S-L-O-W-L-Y, granted,
but works ;)

Does anyone have any idea of what
should I do with this? playing mp3s with
WinAMPMac 0.71 or MS MediaPrayer is
not my idea of fun...

btw, the same thing happens when
playing from CDs... Everything is fine to
the point when I push "Play" button, then it
crashes (and most of the time locks the
whole computer, so I have to reset it).

Try something like GreyAMP or search MacUpdate.com for "MP3" and try some others.
