In trying to remove tentacles of AOL from G3 powerbook, must have thrown out too much. When tried to connect (as usual) with another internet program, error message said tcp/ip is locked or being used. It was neither. Restart without extensions, error message becomes: "cannot open tcp/ip control panel because otgloballib cannot be found". Have not been able to open control panel for the tcp/ip, so don't know how it is set. Everything was fine before using AOL account again - what do I need to reinstalll?

Thanks - tj

You can't open TCP/IP when your extensions are off because TCP/IP requires Open Transport to be active in order to work.

Throw out the TCP/IP preferences file and restart. That'll fix it.
